Launching an Ecommerce Store for a Soap Retailer

The Gratitude Co is a soap company, based in Fairview Heights, Illinois. They sell decadent, handmade bath and body essentials, created from all-natural ingredients. Precision Web Crafting was approached to develop The Gratitude Co’s online store.

TGC Case Study of Precision Web Crafting's work

Objective and Challenge

The site needed to be clean and easy to navigate. It also needed to appeal to TGC’s targeted market, made up of men and women, who were purchasing soap products for themselves or as gifts. The site would be used a driving force to increase sales at their brick-and-mortar store, and it needed to be ready before Christmas, in time for the gift-buying season.

The eCommerce store required integration of:

  • product inventory for both online and offline sales, capturing both to save time
  • shipping and order tracking that would interface directly with the postal service
  • customer input information that would interface with TGC’s email list for new and existing subscribers
  • reward points for loyal/repeat customers
  • gift certificates
  • discount codes and coupons for special sales events
  • credit card processing

Process and Outcome

Precision worked hand-in-hand with TGC, gathering details about the company and their goals, products, services and needs. We developed a custom ecommerce site, incorporating their brand, logo and colors into everything, from the storefront to product pages and PDFs, enewsletters, gift certificates and the website as a whole. Social media pages were also created to match the company’s brand and theme.

SEO best practices were utilized throughout the site and on all product pages, ensuring the site was fully optimized for search engines. To help increase overall sales, Precision recommended proven techniques for fresh, ongoing and useful online content, social media and blogging. Email marketing campaigns were set up and completed for TGC’s email subscribers.

Complementary documentations and one-on-one eCommerce trainings were provided, covering inventory, order processing, shipping, product additions/updates, purchases, email subscriptions, general questions and a full site walkthrough.

TGC’s fully-functional ecommerce site was launched in early October (in time for the holidays), incorporating gift certificates, reward points, discounts, ordering, shipping, tracking, payments and real-time notifications.
